George C. Merz

MERZ, George C., 80, born Jan. 11, 1940, in Cleveland, OH, died March 10, 2020, in Hendersonville, NC. He retired after 20 years of service in the U.S. Navy as a master chief,

and served in multiple active campaigns. He then earned his Master of Science in nutrition from Andrews University and worked as a registered dietician until he retired. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John Merz. He is survived by his wife of almost

42 years, Nancy Fulfer Merz; a daughter, Elsie Merz (Larry) Hodnett; a son, Robert Merz; two sisters, Laurel Hixson and Barbara Gonzalez; one granddaughter; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
