Jeannie Bradley Larrabee
Amy Jean Bradley Larrabee (56), lovingly known to all as “Jeannie,” passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family after a courageous battle with metastatic melanoma. She was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her, and her warmth, creativity, and joyful spirit will be deeply missed.
Jeannie is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 20 years, Clark, and their beloved son, David, a high school senior and the joy of her life.
She is also survived by her mother and best friend, Ruth Bradley; her brother, Gary Bradley; her sisters-in-law and brother-in-law; cherished nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles; and many cousins; all of whom loved and supported her throughout her illness. She was preceded in death by her father, Gary Bradley, Sr.
After graduating from Fletcher Academy in 1988, she went on to get her BA in Elementary Education and MA in Outdoor Education, both from Southern Adventist University. Jeannie was a gifted and creative teacher, adored by her students. She had a remarkable ability to make learning meaningful and memorable. She taught in several locations in North Carolina as a single and multi-grade classroom teacher, homeschool enrichment teacher, and principal.
Beyond the classroom, she shared her talents generously — decorating for school events, at church, during alumni weekends, and for weddings. She was a gifted flower arranger and had an eye for beauty and a heart that delighted in making every occasion special.
Jeannie was deeply committed to her church and loved serving wherever she was needed. She enjoyed working with Vacation Bible Schools; helping with Pathfinders while David was involved; and attending Pathfinder Camporees, Jesus for Asia Rallies, and GYC (Generation of Youth for Christ) Conventions. She frequently contributed to church services with her creativity and musical gifts – Jeannie loved to sing.
Jeannie never missed an opportunity to offer a kind word or compliment. She formed friendships wherever she went and had a unique gift for turning ordinary moments into meaningful celebrations. She enjoyed writing programs and plays and bringing people together through creativity and joy.
Jeannie and Clark, along with David, made many happy memories traveling together across numerous states and visiting National Parks. They cherished traditions such as going to Camp Meeting at Lake Junaluska each May, spending some time each summer with Clark’s family in Maine, and vacationing in Myrtle Beach with her parents and extended family (for most of Jeannie’s life). Wherever she went, Jeannie made happy memories and left a lasting impression. Jeannie’s presence was radiant.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, encouragement, and faithfulness that will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her. In the assurance of her faith, her family rests in the promise of 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17 and looks with hope to the resurrection and that great reunion day.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on April 11, at 2:30 pm at the Fletcher Seventh-day Adventist Church. Memorial donations may be made to the Jeannie Bradley Larrabee Scholarship Fund at Fletcher Academy, 185 Fletcher Academy Dr., Fletcher, NC 28732; (828) 209-6800.
