Eugene Roger Melashenko

Melashenko, Eugene Roger, 75, born October 26, 1950, in Rosthern, Saskatchewan, Canada, died July 17, 2026, in Asheville, NC.

Eugene devoted his life to Christian ministry, education, and music. As a pastor and educator, he served others through teaching and ministry, while music remained an important part of his lifelong service to God. His work reflected a sustained commitment to Christian faith and ministry.

He was married to Terri Beth Purgason Melashenko for 50 years. Together they raised two sons and shared a family that grew to include six grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Terri Beth Purgason Melashenko; sons, Matthew (Cindy) and Tyler; brothers, Lonnie, Joedy, Dallas, and Rudy; and six grandchildren, Kayla, Kirk, Kira, Khitomer, and two additional grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Melashenko, who died in 2013, and Anne Melashenko, who died in 2009.
