Morgan, Marilyn Sue, 93, was born October 8, 1932, in Boulder, CO, and died March 16, 2026, in Hendersonville, NC.
She was born to Henry and Harriet Johnson. During her childhood, her family lived in Elm Creek, NE. She attended school in Nebraska, later studied at Union Springs Academy in NY and Tacoma Academy in MD, and graduated from Walla Walla College in 1954.
She married Henry Earl Rieseberg after college. The couple taught at Indiana Academy before serving as missionaries in West Africa, living in Nigeria, Liberia, and Ghana. Four children were born to them during those years. After Henry Rieseberg’s death in 1964, she continued her work in education.
Morgan devoted her life to teaching and school leadership. She served at Canadian Union College, Okanagan Academy, Little Creek Academy, Upper Columbia Academy, Broadview Academy, and Weimar Academy, where she also served as principal. After retirement, she continued teaching at a community college and later served as a school board chair. She also worked as an editor and writer, serving as editor of Creation Illustrated for 32 years and editing Life Without Parole.
During her years at Little Creek Academy, she married Fred Morgan. In retirement, they lived in Kettle Falls, WA, where she remained active in her church and community. In her later years, she lived at Fletcher Park Inn in Hendersonville, NC.
She is survived by her children, Loren Rieseberg, Ted Rieseberg, and Ellen Rieseberg Prest; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Henry Earl Rieseberg and Fred Morgan; and by her son, Michael Carver Rieseberg.
Her life was dedicated to Christian education, mission service, and her family.
